Got any pre-loved tv gear looking for a good home?
We are planning a Car Boot Sale in May and just gauging interest.

Big and small, we are planning to do it one Sunday morning outside a venue with an empty car park. Baking goods and coffee TBC but a lot of guys looking over the gear of yesteryear talking about old times making deals and swapping accessories an absolute must.

At the moment we are looking at late May.

I leave for asia early June.. unless we put it off but these things loose momentum, already have 1/2 dozen cars interested. Once we pick a date I can do a mailout.

I have a full box of BNC cabbles with connector in both ends, sunguns, lightings, vision mixer ect, depends how many i can find from the shed and fit in my carboot. please let me know once the date confirmed.

At the moment we are looking at the 1st Sunday of July, which is the 4th.

Location is Xytech Lighting They have a huge carpark and a great warehouse as a rain cover.

20 bucks to sell out of your boot, 10 for a table free parking on the road, proceeds to koha our host and contribute to our next social.

Please spread the word, we have the NZCS & Techos involved with both A2Z and DVT ( have yet to contact the others) so hopefully we can have a great turnout.

Looking at having an invitation up soon.

Did the sale happen today? Or is there another date planned?

Didn't happen. I believe it is planned for later in the year.

My apologies for not posting something earlier, i got sidetracked on the road.

We had a lack of rsvp and as with all things with this site it simply required someone to grab the bull by the horns.. I misjudged my spare time.

The idea is very good with some great interest from sponsors so it will go forward at some point, I simply need the resources to do so. If someone is keen to take the lead, there is already some ground work in place.

Saturday 28th 10-00 to noon at your place.

Hold it under the front annex / carpark area- of your building where it is dry.

Sellers bring their own priced & labeled goods and negotiate their own sales.
Maybe a Barbecue and security charge of $5 - $10 at the door.

Great to be keen, 5 days might be a bit quick for people to get their gear together, I'll need a weekend myself to get the garage sorted and the car full.

I propose instead the 12th of September, this will give me time to re-visit the suppliers and institutions who were keen to come. Also, it would be good to get a poster or mailer out, you keen to help out there too?

Well thats why the car boot thing works, cause we can just drive up and sell out the back or bring odd n sots boxes up to a main area.

I have a lot of odds n ends but I know DVT and A2Z want to bring a van each and even Clive at Sony might show up with some discontinued items. I even heard there might be a few cameras on sale!

I have a Schwem, 12V kino Kit, a battery belt, 4 sunguns and some stands among a few boxes.. time to clear out! Just need to sift through it all.

We are good as gold for sept 12 to.

the studio/carpark/green room/upstairs and out the back can all be used for space, thats heaps of room if its raining.

we will just need to find a few tables for the indoors people.

and im happy to open up for a few hours on sat for any one to setup or if the suppliers need to drop off things on friday ill leave the studio booked out as a store room.

I reckon if we just charged a small koha to sellers, 20 bucks for a carboot and 10 for setting up the table, in the form of an honesty box, could be fun. I also think that anyone should come, this is certainly an industry event and should encourage anyone who is keen.

We should meet up for sure, just so we can get a telephone chain going so nobody misses out!

And it's up to the individual seller to supervise their own kit, security etc..? Or do you want a gorilla on the gate and some form of evidence of purchase?

I would simply treat it like avondale markets, tried, tested and true.
